CHARLOTTE – NASCAR drivers Corey LaJoie and Bubba Wallace appeared at the Rack Room Shoes store in Concord Mills Mall on Nov. 27 to raise money for children in need.
Rack Room Shoes matched 100 percent of the money raised that day to benefit national charity Shoes That Fit.
“Attending a shoe delivery in Daytona and seeing the kids first-hand really struck a chord with me,” said LaJoie, whose nickname is “Super Shoe.” “I wanted to bring that same excitement to my hometown.”
Over 11 years, Rack Room Shoes has raised more than $7.2 million and donated more than 250,000 pairs of shoes for Shoes That Fit. Last year’s campaign raised at least $1.62 million.
“By doing our part, and presenting these recipients with new shoes, I think we’re making a small but noticeable investment in the future of our generation,” Wallace said.
