ATLANTA – Pike Nurseries is offering free classes this month on succulents and summer lawn care basics. Kiddos can also get the wiggles out during a special class on beneficial garden critters.
• Savvy Succulents: When looking to add texture and color to gardens and pots, succulents are the perfect choice for even the most beginner gardeners. Green thumbs can learn how to select and care for the waterwise, low-maintenance beauties that make great additions to indoor and outdoor spaces. Complimentary refreshments will be available. Participants will be entered to win a special giveaway. The Savvy Succulents class starts at 9 a.m. July 13 at the Ballantyne (12630 N. Community House Road) and Matthews (1016 Devore Lane) locations.
• Pike Kids Series: Garden Critters: Gardens are home to many beneficial bugs, including butterflies, ladybugs and worms, that help plants grow. During this class, kids can meet some of these helpful critters and create a butterfly feeder to invite fluttering friends to green spaces. This class is open to all ages. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Capacity is limited to 25 people per class. The Garden Critters Kids Class starts at 10 a.m. July 10 at the Ballantyne location, 12630 N. Community House Road. Participants are required to register in advance at www.pikenursery.com.
• Summer Lawn and Garden Solutions: Homeowners are invited to learn the importance of summer garden care, as well as tips and tricks to rid lawns of weeds, pests and diseases to keep outdoor spaces lush and beautiful year-round. Those struggling with lawn mishaps are encouraged to bring photos or samples of problematic spaces for Pike Nurseries’ certified plant professionals to offer remedies and solutions. The Summer Lawn and Garden Solutions class starts at 10 a.m. July 27 at the Ballantyne (12630 N. Community House Road) and Matthews (1016 Devore Lane) locations.
