CHARLOTTE — Officials from the PGA Tour, Wells Fargo and Quail Hollow Club announced on April 30 that the Wells Fargo Championship PGA Tour event will return to south Charlotte through 2024.
However, the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship will be played in Washington, D.C. as Quail Hollow Club will host the Presidents Cup that year. The Presidents Cup is a competition between Team USA and an International Team that represents the rest of the world, minus Europe.
The 2021 Wells Fargo Championship will be held at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm, which has hosted PGA Tour events in the past.
The first Wells Fargo Championship was held in 2003.
