CHARLOTTE – More than 400 students from schools across North Carolina competed in the ninth annual Twelve Regional Competitions on Nov. 17, including some from Myers Park High School.

Students were tested on their knowledge of the core curriculum plus wildcard topics such as current events and state history.

Myers Park placed second in the West Regional at St. Stephens High School.

The school will advance to the Dec. 8 State Final at Northwest Guilford High School.

Jay M. Robinson Middle School and Metrolina Regional Scholars Academy also advanced to the state final.

The NCASA Scholastic Cup and NCASA Challenge Cup are awarded to middle and high schools with the best overall performances among the 21 major scholastic competitions.
