PINEVILLE – More than 300 runners and spectators gathered in Pineville on Saturday, Sept. 10, for the inaugural Richard Sheltra Memorial Foundation 5K, sponsored by Anytime Fitness of Pineville.
The race raised $6,539.84 toward the foundation, which will help firefighters and first responders purchase training equipment and continue their education.
It was an amazing day of fitness, fun and fellowship,” said Anytime Fitness Pineville owner Michael Gilder. “We hope to make this an annual event that benefits our local community and the Richard Sheltra Memorial Foundation.”
The foundation is named in honor of Richard Sheltra, a Pineville firefighter who died in a three-alarm blaze this spring.
