Fall festival, craft fair and more at Pineville UMC
Pineville United Methodist Church will host a fall festival on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The event, geared toward kids, will feature games, a Bible walk, candy and a chance to win a variety of prizes including pencils, erasers, “crazy drinking straws” and more.
The United Methodist Women group will host its ninth annual craft fair on Nov. 9, a Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church’s Crossroads Center. The event, open to the public, will feature 50 vendors selling handmade jewelry, quilts, Christmas items and other craft merchandise. Lunch will be available for purchase.
Proceeds from the sale will benefit the United Methodist Women’s mission programs, and proceeds from food and drink sales will benefit the church’s Youth Fellowship group.
The church will host a special worship service on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary. A discussion about alternative worship options will follow the service.
Pineville UMC also is looking for volunteers who would be willing to work on the restrooms in the church’s fellowship building “to transform them from institutional to pretty,” according to a church newsletter. Pineville Nazarene to host fall festival
Pineville Church of the Nazarene will host a fall festival on Oct. 30, a Wednesday, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
The event will feature candy, snow cones, costume and pumpkin contests with Bible themes, a giant slide, games, prizes and a preschool bounce house. Tickets cost $1 each.

Harrison UMC to host cancer event
Harrison United Methodist Church will host Cancer Killers: The Cause is the Cure on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. in Hammill Hall. The event will teach participants “what cancer really is and how your body is naturally programmed to kill it,” according to the newsletter.

Date night at Stough Memorial
Stough Memorial Baptist will host a Grace in Marriage Date Night on Nov. 8, a Friday, from 6 to 11 p.m., offering parents a night off. Grace Life Academy will provide child care for children birth to fifth grade.
Child care costs $25 for the first child, $15 for the second child, $10 for the third child and $5 for the fourth child and free for each additional child. Children will be provided with dinner and snacks, and parents of infants are asked to bring bottles, food, diapers, wipes, extra clothes and other necessary items.
