With so many of us out there looking for work, maybe the library should be the place to go to “search from.”
They could charge a fee for faxing resumes and other documents and charge a small “user fee” for using the computers. Find out the “utility expenses” for each and every branch and break down the hours of operations and see which one is costing more to operate. Then, adjust the hours of all libraries to have the same “operating” costs, including the payroll. All libraries should be open every day, even if shorter hours are needed to save on costs.
