Why is hydration important? We are about 70 percent water and every bodily process depends on water to function properly. Next to air, water is our most important element.
Why water? Water was specifically designed by our Creator to be the agent to help the body perform its functions of digestion, respiration, elimination and much more, including facilitating electrical functions of the brain.
Most other fluids are either harmful (especially those that are acidic) or diuretic (meaning that they cause a net loss of bodily fluids after consumption).
Why alkaline water? We were born in an alkaline state. Amniotic fluid is alkaline. The best water from natural sources (glacial flow, artesian wells, etc) is alkaline.
As we age, many factors, such as what we eat and drink, our earthly environment, and stress all cause us to lose the alkaline balance and become more acidic. In the 1920s, Dr. Otto Warburg did research showing that disease does not thrive in an alkaline-balanced, oxygen-rich environment. For this work, he won the Nobel Prize in physiology and medicine (1931).
Alkaline water does the best job of delivering oxygen and nutrients to every cell, then help rid these same cells of their toxic wastes.
Why Kangen alkaline water? Translated from Japanese, kangen means “return to source. It is as much as possible, like the originally created water. It is alkaline in pH, highly negative in ionization (more anti-oxidant rich, anti-aging, by far, than either orange juice or green tea. It is also “super hydrating,” due to its unique molecular structure.
Kangen water is produced by machines from the four-decade-old Enagic company. They are the only machines approved as medical devices by the Japanese equivalent of the FDA. These ionizers produce not only drinking and cooking water, but additional waters of various pH levels for cleaning and sanitizing and skin care. The waters are also highly
beneficial to pets and plants.
Interest in the benefits of alkaline water has increased dramatically in the seven years since I was first introduced to it. It is now nearly ubiquitous in health food stores and many supermarkets. A perfect storm engulfs this curiosity, including the aspects of – increasing medical costs, more interest in, and visibility of healthier options to expensive and “side effect rich” (or poor) pharmaceuticals. We also have growing knowledge of the availability of, and importance of, healthy options (Thank Dr. Oz, some good national publications, N.C.’s own PBS broadcast of “The Peoples Pharmacy,” and others).
Shan Stratton, the “nutritionist to athletes” highly recommends it to individuals and teams, because of better hydration, superior electrolyte replenishment, faster muscle recovery and more lasting endurance.
Rob Woodall, director of sports medicine at nearby Winston-Salem State University, has used the water for several years, and has documented outstanding benefits for both his male and female athletes. The water is also increasingly used by Olympic teams.
Many have experienced significant weight loss from the effects of Kangen water. Why? because once it has helped deliver nutrients and oxygen to the cellular level of the body, it removes the toxic wastes from those cells, thus causing the cells to shrink and weight loss to occur.
