CHARLOTTE – Legion Brewing plans to open its second location in SouthPark in fall 2018, complete with 20 taps, upscale menu, outdoor beer garden and event space.
Legion signed a lease for 8,500 square feet on the ground-level of the Capitol Towers.

Since launching two years ago in Plaza Midwood, Legion Brewing has gained a loyal following for its buds and suds concept. The company is opening its second location in the 500,000-square-foot Capitol Towers. Photo courtesy of Social Ape Marketing
Phil Buchy, managing partner of Legion Brewing Company, described Capitol Towers as a premium location primed for an appealing neighborhood brewery and taproom restaurant.
“We intend to stay true to our company values at our new location in SouthPark,” Buchy said. “Our original location in Plaza Midwood is a community hub where old and new friends connect over good beer.”
The taproom will have more than 20 taps and serve beer directly from aged oak barrels.
Guests can order from a menu of wood-fired dishes, including Tender Grilled Skirt Steak Sandwich; Pepperoni, Zucchini and Ricotta Grilled Pizza; and Southern Pickled Shrimp with Cornbread Crostinis.
The location will feature nearly 4,000 square feet of event space, separated into three event rooms available for rent. One room will have a private patio. The others will overlook the brewery and bar.
Guests can expect a more modern, upscale appearance while maintaining the warmth and comfort of Legion Brewing.
“The reception we have received from our friends in Plaza Midwood since opening two years ago has been incredible,” co-owner Newton Craver said. “All we ever envisioned and more.”
