CHARLOTTE – LiveLung will host monthly lung cancer support meetings in Charlotte beginning Nov. 14.
Monthly meetings, which are open to everyone touched by lung cancer, including patients and those who care about them, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1000 East Morehead St. Lunch will be provided.
Meetings will feature guest speakers each quarter.
LiveLung is operated by the Dusty Joy Foundation, a nonprofit that has been providing support, lung cancer education, and resources to the lung cancer community since 2010.
“Our nonprofit is starting a new lung cancer group in this area because the need is so great,” said LiveLung founder Dusty Donaldson. “This area of the state ranks second in terms of the number of people diagnosed with lung cancer. We want to be here for these folks – not only for moral support – but to share experiences about major advances in detection and treatment of lung cancer.”
