DENVER – Shawn Elliott, of Standard Insulating Company, will compete in the 15th annual America’s Best Installer competition Oct. 12 to 14 at the EXDO Event Center.
The Charlotte resident will challenge 35 insulation installers from across the country in a skill-based competition for the $10,000 grand prize.
The three-day competition requires competitors to install JM formaldehyde-free insulation batts into a mock home. Expert judges evaluate each competitor’s performance based on real job site criteria, including workmanship and install quality, speed, material use and reaction to different obstacles.
The winner will receive the grand prize of $10,000 and title of America’s Best Insulation Installer. Second-, third- and fourth-place winners get cash prizes of $5,000, $3,500 and $2,500 respectively.
