Sunflour Baking Company popping up in Ballantyne
CHARLOTTE – Sunflour Baking Company has signed a lease for 2,647 square feet at the Ballantyne Quad, marking the company’s fourth location in the Charlotte market.
The Parrish family owns and operates the company. Sunflour recently opened a store in Harrisburg. It has locations on East Seventh Street and East Boulevard. Sunflour expects to open the new location (14021 Conlan Circle) this fall.
“We’ve been eyeing Ballantyne for a few years,” Jack Parrish said. “We look forward to serving fresh-made breakfast, lunch, snacks and desserts to the area’s many employees and residents.”

Carolina Collectibles Day event benefits PBS Charlotte
CHARLOTTE – Experts from Everything But The House will evaluate items from Charlotte residents’ homes for a fundraiser to benefit PBS Charlotte.
Participants also will have the opportunity to leave items with EBTH to be auctioned off, earning 60 percent of the final sales price.
The event, Carolina Collectibles Day, takes place Sept. 16 at PBS Charlotte’s studio, 3242 Commonwealth Ave. Participants will be assigned to one of three time blocks (9:30 to 11 a.m., 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 1:30 to 4 p.m.) to have their items evaluated. Tickets cost $120 (two items) or $156 (three items).

Charlotte Christian executive named top CFO
CHARLOTTE – Charlotte Christian School’s Chief Financial Officer Terry Efird was named the 2017 Charlotte Business Journal’s 2017 Non-Profit CFO of Year.
Efird has had a 40-year career in business and finance in Charlotte. He took early retirement in 2003 from Bank of America after a 26-year financial career, as he felt God’s call to be the school’s full-time CFO.
“Mr. Efird has been an integral member of the Charlotte Christian leadership team since 2003,” Head of School Barry Giller said. “He has been steadfast and selfless as he has been a faithful steward of the school’s resources. Presently, the school is as healthy as it has ever been in regards to any financial metrics and much of that is due to Mr. Efird’s leadership.”

Bojangles’ rings in 40 years
CHARLOTTE – Bojangles’ will continue the celebration of its 40th anniversary with a variety of extraordinary offers and special events in and around Charlotte.
The “Welcome Home” campaign launched Aug. 1 with Bojangles’ offering a throwback breakfast special. Customers can pick one of five biscuit sandwiches (sausage, country ham, smoked sausage, bacon and gravy), a fixin’ and a drink for the throwback price of $2.77.
