CHARLOTTE – Charlotte Humans for Positive Progress will hold a peaceful march to emphasize that the public cares about the government’s transparency and truthfulness to the American people.
The event, dubbed “The March for Truth,” takes place noon to 2 p.m. June 3 at Romare Bearden Park. It connects Charlotte with 70-plus cities expected to show support for government transparency that day.
“We are concerned about the direction that the current administration is heading in, and are frankly shocked by some of the lies and mistruths that are offered by high-level representatives within the government, including the President,” said Eric Bostic, event organizer and member of Charlotte Humans for Positive Progress. “The President’s decision to fire (FBI) Director (James) Comey, his stubborn refusal to release his tax returns, and the uncovering of more ties to Russian involvement in the 2016 election and in our democratic process are troubling.”
Organizers want the rally to remain positive and non-violent.
