It is time again for our “Month In Pictures” series, a monthly look at the best images gathered across the four Charlotte Media Group properties- South Charlotte Weekly, Matthews-Mint Hill Weekly, Union County Weekly and the Pineville Pilot. For the third installment of Month In Pictures, covering the third month of the year, the theme of threes is continued as we take a look at some of the unique themes that emerged from stories gathered in March of 2017.
Mayors Are People Too:
City Mayors walk a challenging line between their professional, public personas and expressing their own individuality. Below are 3 moments in which local mayors showed their own self expression.
Keeping Everything Together:
This past month many schools in the region rehearsed rigorously for school plays. These three portraits capture a few of the hard working teachers/instructors working hard to keep the complicated rehearsal machine running.
First Day On The Field:
Queens Grant High School played it’s first baseball game on their new field, built almost entirely by their head baseball coach Dan Kerr.
Moments Of Joy:
Through out the month there were moments of great joy experienced by a few story subjects. Three of those moments are illustrated here.
Recovery With Dignity:
During an all day visit to the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center near uptown Charlotte our papers had the honor of reporting on the organization and the amazing individuals fighting to claim their lives back from drug and alcohol addiction.
