A Promise Kept

Members of Business Leaders of Charlotte and the nonprofit Promising Pages recently came together for a check presentation that will help the local reading advocacy group reach more people in Charlotte.

A recent golf fundraiser at the Ballantyne Golf Club helped raise $10,000 for Promising Pages, which will use the money to collect and redistribute thousands of books to area kids. The group recently donated nearly 3,500 novels to kids in need, and estimates around 60,000  children around the city have few to no books at home.

More than 50 local businesses took part in the golf tournament in May.
