Hundreds of women, and some men, will put on heels and run for gold April 9 in SouthPark.
The first annual Stiletto Sprint, sponsored by The Bissell Companies, will raise money for ovarian cancer research. More than 20,000 women in the U.S. are diagnosed with the disease each year.
People will run in a 100-yard dash at SouthPark Mall outside Dick’s Sporting Goods. To qualify as a top finisher, runners must wear shoes that have a slim, tapered heel and are a minimum of 2.5 inches.
All proceeds will go toward ovarian cancer research. For more information, or to register to compete, visit www.tealheels.org.
