Meredith Morrow, a recent graduate from Ardrey Kell High School, recently won the 2012 Shire ADHD Scholarship.
The Shire ADHD Scholarship Program, which helps individuals with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder go on to higher education, selected 50 students diagnosed with ADHD from more than 1,400 applicants in the United States.
Morrow, who will attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill this fall, was selected for the scholarship on the basis of her community service, volunteer and extra-curricular activities and her response to a personal essay explaining how ADHD has affected her life.
She will receive a $2,000 monetary award and a prepaid year of ADHD coaching services provided by the Edge Foundation. The services will help students with their pursuit of higher education.
