CHARLOTTE – Carolinas Matchmaker and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Charlotte Chapter are teaming up for a Philanthrodating event.
The mixer gives young single professionals a chance to meet, mingle and make a difference by participating in a volunteer project for a local cause.
Carolinas Matchmaker founder Laurie Berzack started the Philanthrodating series for singles to meet like-minded people in a relaxed atmosphere while supporting nonprofits. The previous six events have raised more than $16,000 for nonprofits.
“Volunteerism is a lifestyle choice,” Berzack said. “Being able to step outside yourself and help others through donating money or your time creates a certain type of individual. Many people with philanthropy in their DNA want their life partner to have the same mindset they do.”
The event takes place 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at Flight Beer and Music Hall, 314 N. College St. Light refreshments will be provided with a cash bar available. Advance tickets cost $15 at www.carolinasmatchmaker.com/philanthrodating. Tickets will be available at the door for $20.
