Around 15,000 people turned out for the Summer Pops concerts this summer at SouthPark’s Symphony Park.
The events give locals a chance to hear the Charlotte Symphony in a more relaxed setting than the concert halls around Uptown.
“Besides dodging some tricky weather, I’m very pleased with how smoothly the Summer Pops concerts went this season,” said Jonathan Martin, president and executive director of the Charlotte Symphony. “We’ve successfully finished our second year with the new ticketing model, and I’ve heard positive feedback from both my staff and the community. We feel optimistic that the new model is something we can build upon in the coming years and we’ll continue to bring our community together to enjoy live orchestral music at Symphony Park and in the communities surrounding Charlotte.”
The final Summer Pops concert of the year was the July 3 event marking Independence Day. It was the best attended of the summer events.
