The Charlotte Symphony recently announced the four concerts that will make up the 2012-13 KnightSounds season.
The season opens Sept. 28 with “The Power of the Song,” a performance that pays tribute to the art of song and “its powerful influence on orchestral music and our everyday lives, from Gregorian chant and Mozart to Leonard Bernstein and John Lennon,” according to a news release from the symphony. This season’s other performances are: “Ballroom!,” “Pop-Up Opera” and “American Music Masters and Pioneers.”
KnightSounds concerts differ from the usual experience at the symphony in that the performances are shorter and use more unique staging, lighting and decor. The programs are thematic, multi-cultural and include other artistic disciplines.
